Palace and New Balance head back to the drawing board to serve up two tasty editions of the NB991. Having already tested the waters with the Japanese-favourite NB580 in ’22, the two are prepped for another round of action on the footwear shelves.

Whether it’s the bold hits of ultraviolet on the ripstop body or the sharp hits of pink on the webbed panelling, this colourway is anything but shy. Move onto the midsole and mudguard however, and you’ll notice a quick change in direction, with a deep black nubuck and grey leather wrapped around the bottom portion of the upper. We’ve seen this clash before on the cult-favourite Stray Rats x New Balance 991 “Black Grey Purple” from ‘21, proving the silhouette’s ability to play host to the wildest of colourways. Palace co-branding can be spotted throughout, swapping out the traditional set of wordmarks for a vibrant pink embroidery that calls back to the early 2000s era of Mad Hectic collaborations.
